Terrifier 3 UK Premiere: So Successful, Some Viewers Walked Out

We were invited to the Terrifier 3 premiere, and we even made it until the end!

The much-anticipated Terrifier 3 premiered in the UK this week, making waves as it left some viewers physically traumatised. Touted as the “scariest film ever,” the third instalment of the Terrifier franchise certainly lived up to its reputation, with eleven people reportedly walking out of the screening at VUE Leicester Square – one person even vomiting just ten minutes in! Terrifier 3 is not for the faint-hearted, Leone has really pushed the limits with this one.

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the premiere, and horror fans, trust me, this one’s an experience you won’t forget. Director Damien Leone was there, alongside stars Jonathan and Victoria, making the event even more memorable. To top it off, a fan dressed as Art the Clown – wearing the official Tinsley Studio Terrifier 3 mask (now available for pre-order) – added a fun element to the evening.

A Brutal Opener: No One is Safe

Terrifier 3 kicks off with a family being brutally murdered by the franchise’s sadistic killer, Art the Clown. The sequence is so graphic and horrifying that it immediately sets the tone for the rest of the film – and leaves no doubt that no one is safe. This opening scene is so vicious, some fans couldn’t handle it, with cinemas having to print warning notices cautioning viewers about the “extreme violence and excessive gore.”

With some cinemas even training staff in first aid to assist anyone who feels unwell during the film, it’s clear that Terrifier 3 pushes the boundaries of on-screen violence. Director Damien Leone addressed the walkouts, stating, “Typically, people walk out of a movie because it sucks. When someone walks out of a Terrifier film, it’s a testament to the special makeup FX team. I guess we’ve done our job!”

Leone confirmed the events at the UK screening on X, stating, ‘I did personally witness some crazy stuff at this UK screening!’

Blood, Humour, and the Rise of a New Slasher Icon

Despite the intense horror, the film’s plot is surprisingly strong. Leone manages to weave in a bit of dark humour, reminiscent of A Nightmare on Elm Street, which brings some welcome levity to the relentless bloodbath. Art the Clown continues his reign of terror, and with Terrifier 3 being a Christmas-themed bloodbath, it’s clear that this sadistic killer is here to stay. If you thought Art was brutal before, prepare yourself – the bathroom scene in this film is nothing short of legendary. The amount of gore is jaw-dropping, unlike anything we’ve seen in modern horror.

Final Thoughts: Terrifier 3 – A Must-See for Horror Fans

With Terrifier 3, Damien Leone has delivered an unforgettable and unapologetically gruesome horror experience. Art the Clown has solidified his place as a slasher icon, maybe even joining the ranks of horror legends like Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. This movie is not just terrifying, it’s a visceral experience that will leave you rattled long after the credits roll – That’s if you can make it that far!

It hits cinemas this Friday – so if you think you’ve got the stomach for it, don’t miss out!
